The Opportunity

As a Category Executive in this team you will be supporting the future of the business by helping to explore new initiatives and products.

You will learn to review a wealth of consumer data to start to draw conclusions and propose ideas that can be supported with data.

Working closely with the insights team, this role also requires the ability to communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Liaising with data agencies, as well as internal colleagues across the businesses, functions and at various levels.

At times, this role offers great breath and exposure to the wider business with the need to organise and co-ordinate across the different business units.

Tasks that you can expect to be doing as a Category Executive include:

Work with marketing and insight to help improve understanding of our consumer, the wider macro market trends, and their movements, as well as category specific requests.
Upon request, lead, coordinate and pull together the outputs from marketing agencies as and when we create miniseries or explore hot topics to investigate a little deeper into the consumer psyche.
Be an active data user of the data systems and solutions we buy into as a business to ensure we are extracting relevant data and insight and converting the information into understandable and shareable insights.
Collation and ownership of the Monthly GEB board data pack, including the updating of slides and requesting the regular input from the other business units in a timely fashion.
Ongoing management and review of our data providers; included but not limited to, the briefing and scoping of adhoc work. Ensuring we are maximising the reports they provide. Ensuring we have work delivered accurately and on time.
Pull together market and/or brand evaluations together with the Group Category Manager, using various data sources to look at emerging trends, markets, and brands.

The Right Person

We also need:

A good level of knowledge of Excel (able to manipulate data)
Experience within a category role or research position involving data
Graduate level with a degree in Food or Business being desirable or equivalent experience and qualifications will be considered
FMCG experience would be an advantage but is not essential
Right to work in the UK
Project experience
Strong administrative skills, attention to detail and a natural curiosity to interpret data
