Your role

As a
Barista at The Standard, London, you will become part of an exceptional restaurants team that provide an extensive food & drink service across our ground floor restaurant, bar, lounge and garden terraces.

You will of course primarily focus on the preparation of coffee, tea and other beverages for our guests; so you'll need to know your Macchiato's from your Mocha's and Flat White's from your Frappe's.

Our
Barista's work alongside our Breakfast team which with 266 guest bedrooms at the hotel can be very busy when we have a full house So you will need to be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a busy high volume, high energy environment and can manage multiple tasks and guests orders with ease.

It's not all about Coffee of course as you will lend a hand to bar and restaurant teams when needed, so you will need a good working knowledge of restaurant & bar operations.

Do you have what it takes to be a Barista at The Standard?
While we take every detail of design and guest experience seriously, we do not take ourselves too seriously. 'Standard People' are at the heart of our brand; vivid, dynamic and engaging.

Prior experience as a
Barista with the ability to engage and connect with a wide range of guests from different backgrounds, ideally gained in a similar 'Lifestyle' boutique hotel or destination restaurant is essential for this role.

In addition to this you will also need.

Be confident in the preparation of all styles of Coffee with a proven knowledge of drinks, well versed in preparing and serving other hot and cold drinks such as tea, artisan and speciality beverages.
Prior experience using squirrel epos is advantageous, however full training will be given
To be highly social, motivated and proactive; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions
Any relevant coffee training courses are advantageous but not essential
A flexible approach to working hours with the ability to work shifts, including weekends
