The Environment and Public Protection Team are seeking an Enforcement Officer whose role includes working in partnership to assist in the protection of public health and the local environment through a combination of advice, education and enforcement of relevant legislation.


The successful applicant will manage their own caseload across a range of work areas which may include statutory nuisance investigations, air quality matters such as bonfires and smoking chimneys and controlling waste accumulations on private land.


We are seeking individuals who are committed to seeking a resolution based on resolving a problem holistically with a view to improving the lives of the public and helping clean up the district.

With a focus on providing excellent customer care and using your initiative to resolve issues.

By necessity you will need to be adaptable and capable of embracing change so that the Environmental Health Service can respond positively to the many challenges facing local authorities at this time.

It is important that you are an excellent communicator and an active, dedicated and effective team player.


We offer both a flexi-time scheme together with a flexible working environment which consists of both an office, home and district based working arrangement to suit the needs of both the department and the Officer.

We have an extremely generous annual leave policy of a minimum of 30 days increasing to 37 days after 5 years' service.
