Libraries, Museums, and Galleries are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Health and Safety Coordinator to ensure the smooth and secure operation across our various sites.

Reporting through the Planning and Resources Section, this is a crucial role that will ensure Libraries, Museums and Galleries promote a strong, positive safety culture and provide focused support on all LMG Health & Safety matters.


Responsibilities:


As our Health and Safety Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in: - Coordinating and evaluating all Health & Safety functions for LM&G, both statutory and obligatory.

- Providing guidance and proactive support to managers at all levels, ensuring the department is well-prepared to meet safety requirements.


  • Assisting in the development and implementation of Disaster Response & Recovery plans.
  • Contributing to risk registers and service continuity planning with a focus on health and safety.
  • Serving as the Safety Coordinator for the Sydney Jones Library and supporting other Departmental Safety Coordinators and deputies.
  • Identifying and addressing specific Health & Safety training needs across LMG.
  • Ensuring consistent implementation of University policies and standards by developing effective local policies and procedures.
  • Building strong relationships with the University's Health and Safety Office, local managers, and stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the design and delivery of wellbeing initiatives within LMG.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in health and safety coordination or related fields.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work across multiple sites and support various departments.
You will have a degree (or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience).
