Description

The Department of Music has 20 members of academic staff, a dedicated Professional Service Team, around 150 undergraduates, 38 research postgraduates, and 100 postgraduates on taught courses.

It is one of the largest and most vibrant academic music departments in the UK, covering musicology, performance, ethnomusicology, composition, psychology of music, music education, music technology and music management.

It offers a range of exciting programmes at undergraduate, taught postgraduate and doctoral levels and ranked 6th in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, in which 84% of research was deemed 'world-leading' or 'internationally excellent'.

This role is in a rapidly changing environment, and will require an adaptable, enthusiastic and forward thinking approach with excellent communication and organisational skills, and an ability to work collaboratively with professional service staff and academic staff to provide excellent services to students.


You will provide administrative support for all events and meetings associated with PGR and departmental research-related topics by working with both the Department's Director of Research and Innovation and the Director of PGR.

You will keep all of the relevant platforms up to date e.g. departmental research funds and visiting scholars.

You will administer and maintain the Research Ethics database, myPublications database and other relevant systems.
