We have an exciting, rare opportunity to have a high-impact role in a mission-driven organisation with global reach and ambition.

Digital Communications Manager


Location:
Remote with 1-2 days per month in the Glasgow Office


Hours:
Flexible, full-time


Salary:
£38,000 - £43,000 per annum (pro rata) depending on experience

Contract: 8-month contract (with the potential to extend)

About the Role


We are looking for an experienced Digital Communications Manager to lead the delivery of a highly successful international youth programme.


The Global Innovation Challenge (GIC) is an innovation competition that helps young leaders and founders years) to explore, start and grow their ideas to solve the worlds most pressing social and environmental challenges.


Through the competition, the GIC programme engages thousands of young people internationally and provides seed funding awards to the best ideas in each category.

Project teams are supported to incubate their ideas and to develop their abilities as young leaders.


100's of skilled volunteers support the programme virtually (from a global network of corporate partners) as workshop facilitators, coaches and mentors to build confidence and resilience in young participants.


You'll deliver the GIC 2023 campaign communications; working closely with the organisation's co-founders to build from their established programme framework to achieve growth in youth and volunteer participation globally.


Together with the Community Engagement Manager and Digital Designer, you'll execute high-quality content, communication material and engagement activity to ensure a first-class experience for both young participants and volunteers from key corporate partners like Amazon, SAP and the World Economic Forum.


Key responsibilities of the Digital Communications Manager include:
*End-to-end delivery of the Global Innovation Challenge 2023 campaign.
*Creation of high-quality communication material and engagement activity for participants and partners.
*Coordination of external agencies and consultants (creative, content and web).
*Line management of the Community Engagement Manager and Digital Designer.

About You


We are looking for an experienced Digital Communications Manager who can work across digital media and communications to deliver outstanding campaigns.

You are an excellent verbal and written communicator who, regardless of the medium, always delivers awesome, on-brand content and communications.


You will instinctively know how to communicate and engage with a wide variety of audiences - from an 18 year old woman in Ghana to a senior corporate executive in the US.


You are a 'people person' with the ability to operate at various levels within an organisation and a natural ability to positively influence those around you.

You are a highly organised individual who learns quickly and can continually keep one step ahead of projects to address issues before they arise.

You'll have a 'can do' attitude with an ability to encourage and support a small team to make things happen.

To succeed in the role of Digital Communications Manager, your key skills will include:
*Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a digital communications role.
*Exceptional communication skills - whether visual, verbal, or written communication you will have the ability to engage multiple audience types effectively.
*Track record of managing relationships, developing rapport, and influencing others.
*Campaign management and delivery experience.
*Highly adaptable - able to problem solve, overcome barriers, and take a solutions-focused approach.
*Excellent copywriting is a 'must have' skill, other digital content production skills are advantageous but not essential.
*Advantageous if you are driven to make a difference in the world and/or have experience in youth engagement and development activities.
