Description

The Brighton and Hove Emotional Wellbeing Service (B&H EWS) is recruiting to a Band 6 Nursing / OT / Social Work role in its new Primary Care Network (PCN) mental health teams.

The EWS aims to provide GPs with fast access to mental health expertise, preventing further escalation.

The people we work with are usually unable to access IAPT services, but may not meet the threshold for secondary care.

We have excellent links to other local teams to ensure seamless movement of service users to third sector agencies, ATS, IAPT, and other SPFT teams where appropriate.

EWS roles are embedded in the PCNs, but benefit from being part of the SPFT family, with excellent training and supervision as standard.

This exciting and evolving service integrates closely with voluntary sector partners to provide accessible, high quality clinical consultation, assessment, and interventions.

Deans and Central Brighton PCN provides clinical and social support to patients of 7 GP practices.

The PCN aims to improve local population health and break down barriers for patients. Community work aims to de-medicalise distress caused by poverty, isolation, and social fragmentation.

Our vision is based on the following principles:

Proportionate Universalism:
Improving the health of those with the greatest need, fastest.

Integrating Care:
Acting as a bridge between primary care, community services and individuals, to bring healthcare into the community.

Supporting Primary Care:
Reducing pressures on primary care by increasing capacity, supporting with clinical targets and providing holistic, preventative healthcare.

Working in the B&H EWS, you will encounter people experiencing a range of mental health needs, and as a Band 6 practitioner you will be sufficiently skilled and experienced to triage, assess, and provide clinical interventions of up to 6-8 sessions.

You will work in partnership with the PCN team to provide a bridge between primary and secondary care.

Your interventions will be vital to preventing deterioration in previously stable patients, supporting transition to the right services, and providing safe, evidence-based mental health support.

We support blended working options within the needs of the service, and of service users.

Sussex Partnership places a huge focus on the wellbeing of our staff, and ensures our packages reflect the important work they do.

A positive work / life balance brings about health-related benefits, which has a positive impact on the care we provide.

Speak to us about flexible working:
home-working, part time hours, flexible start or finish times, or anything else. If it works for you and works for the role, we'll do our best to make it happen.

Your benefits:

Access to full psychological support via our internal wellbeing team

Excellent supervision programmes, with ongoing opportunities for training and development

Access to discount schemes, and excellent NHS pension

Generous holiday entitlement (starting at 27 days plus bank holidays, increasing with continuous NHS service)
