Associate Director

Basic salary of £85,000-£100,000

Pension paid at 10%

25 days annual leave plus banks

20% office net profit

Job Overview

Requirements:


The Ideal successful Associate Director should have a recognised Fire Safety Engineering degree or suitable alternative qualification, as well as holding Chartered Fire Engineer status.

The Associate Director must be able to demonstrate technical fire engineering experience with the ability to manage remote teams.

The Associate Director must be credible influencer and presenter with excellent communication and reporting skills

The Associate Director must be commercial awareness with good P&L skills


The Associate Director must be experienced in developing strong relationships with business development and marketing to formulate and implement strategies for continued growth and market awareness.

The Associate Director must have excellent report-writing skills.

The Associate Director must be demonstrate strong leadership skills.

The Associate Director must have project experience within the commercial, residential, government and healthcare markets is also advantageous.

Operational/financial accountability.

Knowledge of the UK market and approvals process.


A solid understanding of international fire engineering principles and standards, including NFPA and interaction with insurance companies would be advantageous.

Ability to effectively manage resources to deliver project responsibilities on time, and to expectations.


Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience of working on fire engineering projects.

Minimum 2 years managing a successful team of engineers.


Responsibilities

  • Associate Director responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Management and support of an office of engineers and non-technical staff at various levels
  • Overall responsibility of health and safety (including mental wellbeing) of all team members in their work activities
  • Advising senior team members on technical and other aspects of large, complex projects
  • Client relationship management
  • Ensuring they and all team members conform to and uphold Company standards
  • Informing/educating team members of latest developments in fire design legislation and technical approaches
  • Commercial management and direction
  • Peer review of team's strategies, reports and fee proposals
  • Dispute resolution with clients and individuals
  • Appraisals and development plans for office members
  • Collation and presentation of performance metrics for Shareholders
  • Representation of the Company including professional bodies and committees, networking events, presentations, conferences etc.
  • Expansion and development of the Company

Package

  • Salary dependent on experience but the general range is £80k £100k
  • 10% noncontributory pension scheme (i.e. 100% employer contribution)
  • Staff costs (remuneration and other costs such as professional registrations, training, software licenses, expenses etc.)
  • Local office running costs (e.g. Office rent, office supplies and equipment, and incidental expenses)
  • Administrative and insurance cost (proportionate to the team size)

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 40 per week
