Description of the Business Line or Department
The Communication department of Societe Generale UK is responsible for ensuring:
The definition of the Communication strategy in the UK, in line with Societe Generale group Communication.

The promotion of Societe Generale's brand, culture, values, and business expertise in the UK.


The support of its business activities, principally in Financing & Advisory, Global Market and Investment Services, Wealth and Asset Management.


The Communication team is organised around 2 pillars:

  • Thought Leadership
  • Corporate Engagement
Brand, Sponsorship, Internal Communications, Events and CSR are part of the Corporate Engagement pillar. The Thought Leadership pillar includes Media Relations, Editorial and Business Line communication partners.


Summary of the key purposes of the role


Working within a very busy Corporate Engagement team, this diverse role encompasses internal and external communications, focused on driving and supporting SG Group values and strategic priorities, ranging from staff engagement, to brand profiling and sponsorships,and working with business divisions on a cross-business basis.

The role reports to the Head of Corporate Engagement.


Summary of responsibilities
The Corporate Communications function in Societe Generale UK consists of 16 people.

Within the Corporate Engagement team of nine people, the Corporate Engagement Manager's main responsibilities are:


  • Corporate Communication
  • Build on the "sense of belonging" across the UK business to help promote and drive staff engagement initiatives, working alongside the wider UK communications team, CSR and HR teams, amongst others. You will manage the communication needs of the supportfunctions (incl. Recruitment & HR), with a main focus on internal communications and staff engagement. The role will lead on a highprofile projects focussed on driving the right culture within the bank in particular leading on our Diversity, Equity andInclusion communications. You will also manage the communications for our very active employee networks (Gender, Pride & Allies, BeMe
  • Race Equity, and The Way for our younger employees). And you will lead on the development of our annual recruitment campaignleveraging our external channels. You will also manage our Glassdoor profile including quarterly reporting on our impact. You will work with suppliers for creative support to deliver campaigns and need to be able to gain approvals within a matrix structure.
  • Branding & Advertising
  • In collaboration with Group Brand, coordination and 'policing' of all brand use across the UK and responsible for the occasional requirement to develop external UK advertising campaigns. You will be the main point of contact for the business lines in thisarea.
  • Corporate Partnerships
  • You will help support and drive SG's brand positioning in the UK through sponsorship initiatives, and leverage from our cultural values, namely the arts, classical music and rugby (incl Rugby World Cup 2023).


To be considered for this role, we're looking for someone who has considerable experience of internal communications and staff engagement within complex organisations.

You'll have had extensive experience in creating and delivering high quality, high impactcommunication plans at large organisations. And of course, you'll be an excellent writer who is not afraid to constructively challenge.

The role covers both internal communication and external communication, however is more heavily weighted to internal 80%/20%.

With a proven record in developing effective internal communications plans and delivering internal events as part of those plans, you will have a passion for staff engagement and event delivery.

  • Results driven, dynamic and openminded
  • Proven experience of managing suppliers including onsite events agencies/suppliers
  • Ideally has experience within financial services
