ShareAction's Fundraising Team has a central role in powering our growth across several areas, including climate and biodiversity, health and work.

As the movement for responsible investment (RI) grows our opportunities to support ShareAction to develop its role as the independent voice of RI, a leading NGO campaigning around the financial system and thought leader in the space, increase.

Our small, dynamic and passionate fundraising team works effectively across the organisation to support our delivery colleagues to make compelling cases for support to effect change at the systems level and to initiate, nurture and develop donor relationships with organisations and individuals within the UK, EU and USA.


Position:


As a senior leader, you will support the annual business planning process, working effectively and collaboratively across teams to identify and prioritise funding needs.

You will support a dynamic and high performing fundraising team to set and achieve agreed ambitious but realistic targets.


What you'll do _(key responsibilities)_

  • Lead on the development of ShareAction's short to mediumterm fundraising strategy, majoring on trusts and foundations, including organisations and individuals outside the UK, prioritising EU and USA. Ensuring that appropriate resources, key KPIs/deliverables and relevant tools are in place to assess progress.
  • Translate the strategy into the annual planning cycle, setting with the team realistic but ambitious KPIs, monitoring and minimising risks, and reporting regularly back on progress to the Director of Development, Communications and Engagement.
  • Lead on the development and delivery of compelling funding bids across thematic and delivery areas, supporting fundraising and delivery colleagues to design and construct compelling and highquality bids and wellcosted asks.
  • Lead on the development of our individual giving programme aimed at building a committed and engaged base of donors giving at a lower level.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring high quality and effective business partnering across our delivery teams, and with the Leadership Team, to deliver impactful, aligned and complementary approaches for funding.
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of exceptional, strategic and longterm donor relationship management across institutional and major donor fundraising, including but not limited to the submission of wellcrafted and timely reports, in addition to other effective touch points.
  • Possess a robust and current understanding of charity law and best practice as it relates to fundraising from trusts/foundations, high net worth (HNWs) and individuals.
  • Take responsibility for the growth and professional development of team members to progress within their careers.
  • Maintain an adequate level of professional expertise, identifying areas for professional growth and making recommendations to the Director of Development, Communications and Engagement for investment.

Requirements:


What you'll bring to the team
You'll be a passionate, creative and experienced professional with a demonstrable track record in fundraising from grant makers and/or high net worth individuals

  • You'll have the ability to devise and deliver effective strategic and tactical fundraising strategies and plans across multiple geographies (UK, EU, US) in relation to grant making trusts and foundations and/or high net worth individual donors. These will include specific and measurable deliverables against ambitious but realistic targets developed with the Director of Development and Communications
  • You'll exemplify a great way with people and the ability to work effectively across teams, with trustees, senior leaders and programme staff.
  • You'll bring experience of managing and supporting high performing fundraising teams in trust/foundation/HNW fundraising
  • You'll bring experience in outstanding donor management, including retention and trade up strategies and plans
  • You'll possess a robust and current understanding of charity law and best practice as it relates to fundraising from trusts/foundations and HNWs
  • You'll have the ability to work calmly under pressure, and model this for colleagues, in a high pressure and fast paced team and organisation
  • You'll possess excellent verbal and written communications skills
