Balfor is currently recruiting for university support workers to support a student attending the Sheffield Hallam University.

You will be supporting a student a high achieving Computing student that has Cerebral palsy and utilizes a wheelchair.


The student will be attending University on a part time basis from September 2023 and will require assistance with Note taking during lectures, Communication during lectures and to their peers.


In addition, the student will need support with, personal care support including feeding and toileting, (use of a hoist) and generals support around campus.

Support will be required between Monday - Friday on campus based on the student's timetable. We are looking for someone who can work flexibly in line with the student's timetable.


The right support worker will be working on a one-to-one basis and will be required to support the student as a practical / mobility assistant.

To carry book / bags, open doors, push a wheelchair, lift, and carry equipment under the student's instruction.

Duration:
academic year 2023/2024- Temporary ongoing.


Requirements:


  • Experience working supporting individuals with physical disabilities.
  • Experience providing Personal care.
  • Experience Note taking.
  • Previous experience as a practical support assistant or support worker who has supported someone whilst they have attended school college or university.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Prepared to have a Disclosure and Barring Service check carried out.

Part-time hours: 10-15 per week


Salary:
£11.00-£13.00 per hour
