Cell Leader Operator

Warminster

Permanent - 3 Shift weekly rotation.

Salary:
Up to £37,000


Hawk 3 Recruitment are working with a specialist manufacturer based In Warminster to recruit a Cell Leader operator to join their company on a permanent basis.

Job Purpose:


Support the Shift Management to ensure the corresponding trained staff are in the right places for the effective and efficient production manufacturing process to support the running plan.

Assisting the management team in organising the correct materials and resources.


Manage all aspects of the printing machine operation, making sure the machine is working at full capacity, is stocked with the necessary materials, and is well maintained.

Assessing training requirements and supporting in the development and new skills up take of operators.


Specific responsibilities


Good understanding of water based (or solvent based) inks to include viscosity, trapping and colour sequences, including x ray and associated software.


Good understanding of photopolymer printing plate (Stereos) specification is key, making sure any issues are highlighted ahead to the shift managers to minimise downtime and waste.

Manage and organise product flow and WIP areas for on and off machine processes.

Strive to improve production and quality, ensuring that Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are monitored, and targets achieved.


Assist the Maintenance engineer to provide specialist technical support, identify necessary machine spare parts and upkeep the inventory of spare parts to enhance the machine performance.


Deliver team briefs, shift handovers with focus on quality, technical aspects of jobs, and H&S, encouraging and gathering ideas from the team.

Provide the technical expertise, training and printing mentoring within team.

Lead by example, ensuring a healthy, risk

free, and safe working environment is always maintained,


working in conjunction with the Head of Production, Shift Management and HSO to ensure the safe operation of the plant and machinery.


Knowledge and experience
A proven background in management within a manufacturing environment.


Flexographic Printer experience for corrugated board conversion, whilst consideration will be given to a Lithographic Printer on folding carton board.

Working knowledge of Repro and Colour management would be advantageous.

  • Full understanding of xray (Colour Machine) and associated software.
  • Good understanding of waterbased (or solventbased) inks to include viscosity, trapping and colour sequences.
  • Good understanding of photopolymer printing plate (Stereos) specification would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to sustain and develop team working and teambased problem solving.
  • Possess the ability to lead, motivate and coach a team, leading by example, setting objectives, and defining responsibilities to give a clear sense of direction.
  • Computer literacy, able to use MRP's, (Material Resource Plan), such as ABACA PKG 3000, Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • High level of numerical and analytical ability.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with work colleagues.
  • Able to achieve results by setting high standards and committing to clear objectives with the ability to show resilience and a flexible approach.
  • Aptitude and ability to understand packaging equipment and products.
