Department / Role Overview


Ashurst Reach is the firm's dedicated flexible legal resourcing platform, enabling us to source contract lawyers to temporarily augment a practice group legal team or to send on secondment to clients.


Exceptional levels of initiative, organisational skills and client focus are key requirements, with responsibilities spanning practice management, diary management, business development, document production and billing.


Main Responsibilites

  • Practice Management_
  • Support the Reach team to deliver the daytoday activities and requirements for Ashurst Reach in the UK
  • Support with the collation of relevant MI and market information.
  • Support the Recruitment Manager in building an Ashurst "bench" of consultants. This will include arranging interviews, branding CVs and collating consultant records.
  • Effectively collaborate with a range of internal business services teams to optimise and improve processes linked to the Reach flexible resourcing lifecycle.
  • Assistance with document amendments for client or internal use and drafting correspondence, checking that all work is accurate and follows firm's standards.
  • Manage, track and coordinate the matter billings with the Reach team, including reconciliation, time sheet management and client billing.
  • Work with Financial Management team to prepare timely and accurate client invoices.
  • Work with Ashurst's HR admin team to facilitate the onboarding of all Reach new joiners, including monitoring background checks, sending first day instructions and arranging IT kit.
  • Act as a Ashurst Reach point of contact for Reach consultants working on assignment, fielding questions related to all stages on the consultant experience.
  • Communicating with clients directly, screening calls and providing responses, including managing central mailbox
  • Diary/Travel Management_
  • Active diary management and gatekeeping.
  • Coordinating, meeting and interview requirements (room bookings, attendee invitations, resources, catering), including scheduling arrangements across time zones. Organising travel plans for team member travel where required
Business Development/Marketing_

  • Builds professional networks and effective working relationships with stakeholders and Practice Executives/Executive Assistants at both internal and external clients.
  • Develop and maintain a good commercial awareness of the practice and clients.
  • Creation or amendment of animated or graphical PowerPoint presentations.
  • Assisting with coordination and on the ground preparation of small client events and liaising with the events team to source venues, invitations, arranging resources, seat planning, communications and presentations, etc.
  • Ad Hoc_
  • Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience as an Executive in a law firm or other professional services environment such as Resourcing, HR or Administration
  • A willingness to innovate and think laterally.
  • Good academic background, educated to graduate level or has equivalent professional experience.
  • High degree of initiative, proactivity and problemsolving skills, with a willingness to take ownership for the completion of tasks/projects and deliver innovative solutions to improve systems or work practices.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and managing a high volume of tasks.
  • Exemplary attention to detail and efficient selfmanagement of workload.
  • Able to build positive relationships across teams, functions and roles.
  • Ability to positively approach new challenges in the context of continuous improvement and change.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and skills and keen attention to detail, with the ability to draft correspondence, presentations, client proposal documents and slide packs quickly and accurately.
