About the role:


To work as an assistant helping the keyworkers and as part of the Early Years team under the direction of the Nursery Teachers.

To provide safe, high quality education and care for young children.

  • Help prepare and set out activities for the children.
  • Be involved alongside the staff team to provide a wide range of play activities suitable for the age and ability of the children.
  • Understand the emotional and physical needs of young children and with the other staff and parents, care for these needs.
  • Advise the Nursery Teacher of any matters requiring attention such as concerns about a child, or equipment needing repair or replacement.
  • Attend team meetings where appropriate.
  • To ensure the safety of children and adults in the group at all times
  • To retain confidentiality of any information regarding the children, their families or other members of staff that you may become aware of through working as nursery assistant.
  • Contribute to and implement all nursery policies and procedures.
  • To attend child protection/safeguarding courses as necessary
  • To be fully knowledgeable on all our policies and procedures at all times.
  • To take ownership of coursework and adhere to standards and timescales
