Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) is looking for two full-time Respiratory Locum Consultant's to join an existing team of 30 NHS and academic consultants providing general and specialist Respiratory services to the people of Nottinghamshire and beyond.


You will be joining a dedicated team of professionals providing outstanding Respiratory care and internationally recognised Respiratory research within the NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre, a partnership between NUH and the University of Nottingham.


NUH is the fourth largest acute Trust within the UK, with a busy emergency department at Queen's Medical Centre, which is a level 1 Trauma Centre.

NUH provides services to 2.5 million residents of Nottingham and surrounding communities, and specialist services to a further 3-4million across the region and nationally.

Applicants must have GMC registration and be eligible to be included on the Specialist Register. Sub specialty interests could also be accommodated.

Main duties of the job

alongside the specialist nurses and research teams.

A full range of medical emergency and elective patients are admitted to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust but the respiratory consultants run a separate Respiratory Assessment Unit at the City campus, taking direct admissions via 999 ambulance service, as well as transfers from the

their share of on-calls on the RAU rota, when he/she will be responsible for the management of those patients admitted under his/her care for a period of 24 hours.

  • MBBS, MBChB or equivalent MRCP
