Job summary:

165 Port and Maritime Regiment Headquarters is at Derriford, Army Reserve Centre.

165 P & M Regiment, Royal Logistics Corps (RLC) is the largest Reserve Regiment in the Army and the unit consists of six sub-units as follows: 265 Port Sqn based at Plymouth; 266 Port Sqn, Southampton; 232 Port Sqn, Bodmin; 710 Hygiene Sqn, Aylesbury and 142 Vehicle Specialist Sqn, Banbury.

The unit's mission is to provide a UK military deployable port, maritime and logistic enabling capability at readiness, to enable operational success.

The Stores Person will assist the management and the accounting of stores items. They will control, issue and receive the stores. As a team we are responsible to accurately account all stores for 165 Port & Maritime Regt, RLC. This job can be an exciting and rewarding position with a variety of duties

We are a small and encouraging team.

You will be working as a valued member of our busy and hardworking team to maintain stock at the agreed set levels.

Ordering and issuing equipment to all Regulars and Reserve personnel and meeting all the Business demands of the Regiment.

Training will be given to meet the requirements of the job. This may include some travel and spending time away on course.

Desirable:
A knowledge of the stores management and ordering system. Which is known as "Management of Joint Deployed Inventory" (MJDI) is desirable but training can be given.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.


Job description:


  • Maintain Agreed stock limits by demanding or backloading stores as detailed or required.
  • Load and Unload Stores from vehicles (some Manual Handling will be required) and complete relevant documentation.
  • Assist with the completion of all store's transactions relating to the defence supply chain.
  • Administrate the unit Attractive to Criminals and Terrorist Organisation (ACTO) Account.
  • Assist in the preparation of all store's records for periodic audit.
  • Maintain the unit accountable documents register.
  • Maintain the register of the regiment's office equipment.
  • Act as one of Derriford Army Reserve Centre Fire Wardens.
  • Carry out the duties of Regimental Ammunition stores person, including duties of the Authorised Representative (Ammunition) Road.
  • Act as the unit Manual Handling Equipment Operator.
  • Assist with any other duties that the Quarter Masters Department may require.
