We are on the lookout for an ambitious, enthusiastic and energetic
Stock Controller to join our hard-working and growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in warehouse supervising, auditing or accounting.


You will work with a purchasing team of four and will be assisting our Head of Procurement in assessing stock levels and materials usage while making sure the processes and followed at the site level and the expenditure is within the budget.


Main objectives of the role
You will work both autonomously and alongside Finance, Operations and other teams to fulfil the requirements of the role.

The Stock Controller will be site-based 4 days a week with one day in the office, will seek to identify site-level problems and report them while making sure the procedures and best practices are being followed and help instruct the material controllers on how to carry on their daily activities.

They will assist with the perpetual stock counting and organize physical counts.

  • Travelling to different site locations daily
  • Checking how goods are being received and checked for quantity and quality issues
  • Verify if the goods are being handled and stored safely and securely
  • Organise the storage area to ensure maximum storage capacity is achieved and ensure higher pick accuracy
  • Investigating any discrepancies and shortages to minimise overstocking and removing redundant and obsolete stock.
  • Investigate discrepancies between forecasted (budgeted) demand and actual
  • Making sure the goods issued are being recorded and correctly allocated in a timely manner.
  • Conduct daily stock spot checks, report on findings, and develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices
  • Ensure endofmonth stocks are accurate and reflect the physical stocks
  • Identifying opportunities in improving materials availability and quality onsite and taking into account the requests of the operations teams
  • Making sure the material controllers are following the correct process at all times

Do you have what it takes?

  • At least two years experience in a warehouse/inventory/auditing/stock controller role.
  • Full, clean, UK driving license
  • An awareness of Health and Safety laws and best practices.
  • Proven working experience within an ERP environment.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office suite, especially MS Excel.
  • Influencing and persuasion skills
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team in a fastpaced environment, and a willingness to collaborate across different functions
  • Meticulous and detailoriented, displaying a conscientious approach
  • Selfmotivated, determined, resourceful, and adaptable
  • Exceptional writing and written communication skills, with a strong command of English grammar, spelling, and vocabulary

Desirable but not essential
- construction industry experience and knowledge of the social housing sector is highly desirable
- educated to degree level or equivalent
