Description

The post holder will be responsible for providing a fit testing service for all staff that may be required to wear tight-fitting respirators (reusable or single-use) as part of the job.

The post holder will be fully trained for both the qualitative and quantitative fit testing methods. The post holder will be responsible for providing a high level of comprehensive support to staff being mask-fit tested.


In this role, you will be testing and submitting results to our learning and development team, working within the NHS environment.

Carrying out the vital task of fitting and testing staff with masks to ensure an adequate seal is provided to protect from airborne transmission diseases.

Full training will be provided for the role, with continued mentorship and support from our team.


The job will include working within a dedicated face fit testing area as well as deployment to specific locations in the hospitals on request.


You will learn the ability to fit and adjust masks and to work methodically and accurately through the testing process.

You will keep written and electronic records.

  • Conducts FFP3 fittesting procedures with employees and providers to ensure proper respirator sizing and style is issued.
  • Issues FFP3 replacement masks to employees as needed.
  • Maintains the inventory of respirators, testing solutions, and other fittesting supplies.
  • Answers phone to schedule appointments for fittesting employees and providers.
  • Explains the importance of FFP3 respirators and their role in infection prevention.
  • Screens employees and providers to ensure they are suitable for FPP£ respirator use and testing
  • Inputs data into spreadsheets tracking the issuing and use of FFP3 respirators
