Qualifications:


  • Full GMC License
  • MRCPsych or equivalent
  • Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it.
  • Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it.
  • Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST
  • To hold MRCPsych or equivalent, and a CCT
  • To be innovative, motivated, and passionate about Community Paediatrics and mental health care
  • Have essential understanding of current developments in psychiatry

We are currently recruiting for a Consultant Community Paediatrician and Honorary Associate Professor of Child Health UCL GOSH ICH Employed by NELFT and jointly employed with UCL as honorary academic positionbased at Wood Street Health Centre and UCL, 6 Linford Road, Walthamstow, London E17 3LA.


You will join a dedicated group of substantive Consultants and SAS doctors within the service and will have the opportunity to influence future direction, treatment, and models of design in the area in which you work.

The post offers full-time 10 programmed Activities post, 6 PAs clinical in NELFT and 4 PAs academic in UCL.

You are expected to:


  • Join existing NHS consultant Paediatricians in the Trust but will also lead on the research related activities in the sector.
  • Have an established track record in child health research either using data and or at the clinical interface.
  • Work within a fully integrated specialist community children's service including CAMHS.
  • Support medical education and Quality Improvement / Audit for Waltham Forest team
  • The job plan will include clinical triage, neurodisability clinics and clinical safeguarding as well as supervision and training of junior staff.
  • Develop special interests and lead roles, depending on their experience and interests.
  • Have relevant experience in research, quality improvement and service development, clinical management and leadership skills.
  • Develop proof of principle specialist clinics such as for children who have been exposed to alcohol antenatally, conduct in collaboration with therapists and others, clinical trials, and study data collected on the ICT systems
