Role Purpose


Skills & Learning is a top performing Adult Community Education (ACE) provider, previously shortlisted for provider of the year in the prestigious Times Education awards.

Ofsted judge the service as 'Good' overall and the quality of Information, Advice and Guidance is independently checked and endorsed by Matrix.

Direct Claim Status (the highest level of autonomy) is held for the qualifications we deliver, and Government administered learner satisfaction survey results are excellent; most learners achieve and would recommend Skills & Learning to others.


We are seeking an Employability and Progression Coach to help deliver on our new UKSPF project who can coach/deliver workshops in areas such as CV Writing, Interview Skills and Job Searching (non-qualification courses).

Teaching assignments will include daytimes, weekends and evenings and will cover Dorset, so flexibility is essential.

We use MS Teams to deliver online and hybrid teaching as well as in day-to-day communications with staff.

The roles are fixed term until May 2025 in the first instance. Both full and part time hours are available.


Main Responsibilities
Employability and Progression Coach - coach and support learners to progress towards the workplace


Essential requirements for applicants are:

A teaching qualification e.g., Award, Certificate or Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent

Level 2 English and maths qualifications e.g., GCSE at Grade C or 4 or equivalent

At least 2 years' experience of Teaching or Training

Experience of using MS Teams


Desirable requirements:

Advice and Guidance qualification/careers guidance experience
- how many hours you could commit to
- what your flexibility is with the hours and travel requirements
- what qualifications you hold
