Control Room Administrator position available for a motivated individual to join our team in
Exeter. Joining us on a full-time basis, you will receive a competitive salary of
£22,470 per annum plus excellent benefits.
About the role
***Working as a Control Room Administrator at the core of South West Water's Control Room, you'll be at the heartbeat of the company's operations. This unique opportunity provides an insight into a wide array of business activities.
You'll have responsibility in handling and processing alarms coming from our Drinking Water & Waste Water departments to ensure the welfare of our staff.
What you'll be doing:
- Management and triage of lone worker alarms through the use of the company alarm handling system, in accordance with South West Water company policy
- Answer calls promptly and courteously within given service levels
- Create audit trails for each alarm activation
- Analysis of data and trend information on the alarm handling system
- Ensure all systems/databases are updated in a timely and accurate manner
- Develop and maintain team relations with other staff, Managers and Stakeholders
- Join monthly contract meetings giving appropriate feedback
- Communicating clearly with our stakeholders and other team members
- Prioritising workloads and handling high volumes at peak times
- Provide support to the Alarm Team Manger through participation in tasks additional to daily duties
What we are looking for:
- Resilience, ability to stay calm when under pressure
- Persuasive character with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible approach with the ability to embrace change
- Good general standard of education with a minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
- Experience of prioritising workloads and working in an office type environment
- Experience of handling high call/work volumes
- Data Handling and investigation
- IT literate
- Microsoft Office and in house company bespoke systems
- The ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team to ensure a high level of service is maintained to external and internal customers
