We now have a fantastic career opportunity for a permanent Machinist who has experience within a engineering/machining environment.
We are looking for:
- Experienced in General machining principles which should include CNC Lathe, CNC grinding, Balancing etc.
- Note:
- We do not expect the applicant to conversant in all areas but a good general background is needed that can be developed further hence the willingness to take on additional training and responsibilities is paramount to the position
- Familiar with measuring equipment micrometers Vernier's etc. but willing to develop onto CMM and optical measuring equipment
- Work safely and ensure all products are machined to the work instruction provided.
- Ensure all documentation relating to the job order is filled in correctly and logged onto the data capture system
- After a training period must be able to achieve production process times as identified on the job order
- Flag up and identify any nonconformances promptly to the team leader work alongside Engineering/QA to understand the reasons for the nonconformance and participate in corrective actions
- Look after all tooling and machinery and maintain as advised. Check measurement equipment used is within calibration and of good working order
- Keep the machine area in a tidy organised condition
- Ensure the H&S legal requirements, policies and procedures are complied with at all time
Working Hours:
Working hours are 37.5/ week on a 2 shift pattern
Days 6-2:30 MTWT and 6-11:30 F
Afternoons 14:15 -00:15 MTW and 14:15-23:45 T (As needed)
About You:
- Proven engineering background using multiple machines ideally in a CNC environment
- Knowledge of engineering / machining practices
- The ability to read engineering drawings
- The ability to measure machined features using various measuring techniques
- To be able to operate at a high level of precision and competence
- An NVQ level 3 (Apprenticeship in Engineering) would be ideal but not essential
