Assistant Estate Accountant - Lower Harlestone, United Kingdom - Vanilla Recruitment (UK) Ltd
Description
This role will be office based and you need to be comfortable working in a rural environment, as you will require a car to get to the site.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Overseeing both purchase and sales ledger processing
- Ensure employee expense are processed and policies are adhered to
- Assist in creating and maintaining the Sales & Purchase Ledger process documents
- Monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations for multiple companies
- Work with the Finance and Estate teams to oversee and manage individual customer and supplier accounts
- Ensure VAT Records are maintained, and VAT Returns are submitted.
- Provide development and support to the finance assistants
- Create and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders, customers, and clients
- Assist the Financial Controller with month end management account preparation
- Assist the Financial Controller with the annual budget process, and the wider Estate team with budgetary controller processes and queries
- Adhoc tasks as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the Finance Department
Skills and experience required:
- Qualified AAT or CIMA/ACCA PQA (Study support available following the probationary period)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working within a finance environment and with a solid knowledge of accounting
- Previous team leadership experience desirable
- A high level of IT user competence, particularly in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP's & Formulas) with practical experience of using accountancy software systems (Farmplan / Xero desirable)
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work in a process driven environment
- A strong selfstarter who is motivated and can work independently
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- An approachable and engaging communicator
- Helpful team member, happy to provide support to colleagues in other areas where required
Hours:
- 09:00 17:00 (30 minutes lunch)
Salary and benefits:
- £30,000 - £35,000
- AAT / CIMA / ACCA Study support after probationary period
- 25 days annual leave + 8 Bank Holidays
- Pension 7% employer/ 3% employee
