Finance Assistant


Summary of post:

Based in Leamington, this is a great opportunity to join a local independent charity with a diverse and complex finance operation.


The role provides exposure to a variety of finance functions including detailed work on the sales and purchase ledgers and financial administration in relation to the charity's retail outlets.

The role would suit an individual who is driven and comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

Previous experience is an advantage but this role is also suitable for someone seeking a career in finance as full training on systems and operations is provided.


Location: 8 Clemens Street, Leamington Spa


Hours of work:37 hours per week, Monday-Friday including a 30 minute unpaid break.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Person Specification:


  • Assisting with all aspects of the sales ledger process including the production of monthly Home Support and Dementia Day Opportunities invoices, processing direct debits, raising manual invoices/credit notes as and when necessary, dealing with queries, monitoring the sales ledger and chasing debts as necessary.
  • To be responsible for taking card payments by phone from clients, banking cash and cheques, reconciling and allocating payments to the sales ledger.
  • To assist in the effective and accurate processing of all aspects of the income generated through the retail outlets.
  • To support data entry onto the purchase ledger as and when required.
  • To complete all routine tasks in a timely manner to enable appropriate monitoring and reporting.
  • To support data entry onto the purchase ledger for invoicing as and when required.
  • To assist with the effective and accurate processing of all aspects of the income generated through the retail outlets.
  • To assist in the administration of the EPOS Gift Aid system including preparing and submitting the quarterly Gift Aid claim to HMRC.
  • To assist the other members of the Finance Department as and when required.
