Warehouse & Yard / Forklift Operative - Uddingston

We are currently looking for a
Warehouse & Yard / Forklift Operative to join our team at our Uddingston Depot.

In this role, you will work as part of the Warehouse team to ensure the efficient and safe running of the day-to-day warehouse and yard operations.

You will be responsible for the safe loading and unloading of vehicles, whilst considering vehicle weights and dimensions, ensuring this is done within the plan and to schedule.

As part of the warehouse team, you will be responsible for keeping the warehouse and yard clean. You will assist as required in the warehouse including the wrapping and labelling of pallets.

You will have a responsibility for ensuring all tasks relating to the yard and warehouse are carried out safely and effectively, including ensuring that all personnel on site, employees, contractors, or customers are adhering to the relevant site rules and regulations.

You will ensure that plant and equipment is kept in good working order, raising defects when required.

To be successful in this role, you will have some previous warehouse experience and ideally hold a current counterbalance forklift licence.

You will be extremely health and safety conscious with the ability to challenge the wrong behaviours and ensure everyone is always working in a safe manner.

You will be a good communicator and you will have excellent organisation skills. You will be able to work well on your own as well as part of a team.

The role is a full-time position, working 45 hrs per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 09:30 - 19:00 or 10:30 - 20:00 with a 30-minute break.

A weekday hourly rate of £11.48 for hours worked after 6am, and a weekday hourly rate of £12.43 for hours worked after 6pm, some weekend work may also be required with further enhanced rates available.
