Working pattern Mon - Thurs: 08:30 - 17:00.

Main Function:

Your primary focus will be to assure the quality of training, coaching, assessment, and development to employed apprentices. Typically, this will include a wide range of apprenticeship standards across a range of employer partners nationally.


You will be the driver for improvement, working with learners, employers, and internal managers to create high quality apprenticeship training programmes.


As an Internal Quality assurer, you will be responsible for ensuring any quality interventions undertaken are triangulated and show a clear and measurable impact.

Main Duties

  • Responsibility for ongoing quality assurance relating to the delivery apprenticeships at NWSLC.
  • The implementation of effective Continuous Quality Improvement measures that allow the management team to track quality improvements.
  • Play an active role in leading change, operational and quality improvements, and development.
  • Be responsible for training and guidance to all levels of managers and staff on quality and improvement as well as coordinating the communication of all quality issues relating to delivery.
  • Conduct internal quality deep dives, to undertake holistic risk and needs assessments and to be aware of all quality compliance and developments in relation to awarding bodies, Ofsted, and funders.
  • Ensure issues that arise from interventions are monitored, reported, managed, and resolved within a timely manner.
  • Lead and influence management decisions regarding Quality of delivery based on the principles of standardisation and best practice.
  • Support the strategic overview and implementation of quality assurance across the business.
  • Contribute to the company SAR and QIP as appropriate.
  • Ensure areas of development, as well as quality improvement are addressed and meet the requirements of internal and external benchmarks.
  • Work with appropriate managers to lead delivery teams towards an outstanding level of Quality teaching, learning, training, and assessment.
  • Carry out activities in line with the organisations QTLA process and professional development.
  • Carry out a range of quality assurance activities through feedback gained from apprentices, mentors, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Carry out monthly quality status reports of delivery practitioners within own remit.
  • Support operational managers in identifying, constructing, and implementing development plans for delivery practitioners.
  • Support operational managers in raising standards and narrowing the gap in achievement and attainment for all learners.
  • Guide and support Skills Development coach's and Lecturers to ensure quality and consistency of learning and assessment.
  • Conduct formative and summative sampling of portfolios.
  • Support all external quality assurance activities.
  • Analyse delivery practitioner capabilities in the context of their role.
  • Ensure delivery practitioners meet the minimum requirements for their role.
  • Check that workplace learning and assessment visits are planned, prepared, and conducted according to agreed procedures.
  • Support on all End point assessment activities.
  • Prepare monthly reports for the Apprenticeship Quality Manager
  • Be prepared to travel as required to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Carry out other duties as may reasonably be required by the Apprenticeship Quality Manager
  • You will manage and support the development and improvement of programmes across the apprenticeship provision.
  • Implementation and ongoing review of residential activity through the chosen third-party provider.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults.
