About the Role:


Base Location:

Flexible UK & Ireland | We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception.

We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around the UK and Ireland.


Salary:
£61,100min - £91,700 + car/car allowance + 15% performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Role:


Asset & Facility Management

  • Deliver a costeffective Operations & Maintenance asset strategy; maximising asset performance and availability, whilst reducing overall lifecycle costs to the business
  • Deliver a wholesite facility management solution, catering for the requirements of each location, including but not limited to access, security, waste management and retail

Financial Management

  • Control the profit & loss account for EV assets, demonstrating full ownership of day to day transactions, upcoming maintenance and repair costs and future replacement or demolition requirements; engaging with wider business teams to look at shared benefits across sectors
  • Revenue collection and financial reporting of asset and overhead costs to show realworld profitability of any given site, as well as the portfolio as a whole

Stakeholder Management

  • Develop relationships with 3rd party landowners where our assets are located, and internal lands team where future assets could potentially be located. Ensure proactive and positive communication that leads to future growth and upselling opportunities
  • Engagement with potential JV partners to identify business benefits and longterm relationships that could share risk and reward appropriately

Technology & Innovation

  • Develop relationships with key EV and associated asset suppliers to understand existing and future technology options feeding into EV sector technology and procurement activities
  • Lead in the development and implementation of data collection and API connections from operational sites to develop customer intelligence and revenue generating opportunities

Mentoring & Team Development

  • Mentor and develop members of the EV Asset Management team through coaching, training and work shadowing; acting as the first point of query within the team, offering expert advice and knowledge transfer to enable them to make decisions independently.
  • Provide advice and knowledge to Project Teams on options for alternative plant and equipment types. Share lessons learned in the operational phase to enable a continuous feedback loop for SSE

What do I need?:

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • A STEM Degree or equivalent level of academic qualification would be highly advantageous
  • Expert knowledge of EV technology and the direction of travel in the industry, including the latest technical trends and customer requirements
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience with profit & loss management
  • A strategic vision for an operations & maintenance strategy that will safely maximise asset uptime, with a good foundation in asset management principles
  • Experience in managing and motivating a team, including setting and exceeding challenging targets
  • The ability to develop and communicate a compelling vision for the future of the EV sector, and the ability to influence others, internally and externally
