Finance Assistant | Cheltenham | Permanent | Salary: up to £28,000 / hybrid working

My client is a leading provider within the UK support services in their sector


JOB SUMMARY
To provide a professional ledger management service to the corporate finance team. This includes ensuring you complete all responsibilities and deliverables below in an accurate, timely & compliant manner.


Main Responsibilities

  • Raising sales ledger invoices
  • Prepare purchase invoices for recording and coding on a daily basis
  • Prepare supplier statements for monthly reconciliation
  • Assist with payment runs
  • Sales ledger reconciliation
  • Resolving customer payment queries
  • Monitoring cash balances
  • Run credit checks on new suppliers and customers and set up on accounts on accounting system
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, third parties and other Polo staff.
  • Ensure procedures and controls are documented, followed, reviewed and updated.
  • Undertake adhoc projects and tasks as required.

Personal Profile

Job related experience qualifications and skills:

Essential:

  • High professional ethics
  • Experience of Sales & Purchase Ledger
  • Able to prioritise and plan to meet deadlines, even when they conflict
  • Good communicator and team player with a committed, professional and positive attitude
  • Effective problemsolving skills
  • Competent MS Excel/Outlook skills

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of SUN financial system or previous ledger management system
  • Experience of assisting with new system implementations e.g. data migration/reconciliations, testing.
