The Best Connection is looking for a warehouse admin for our client based in Barnsley.


This role is situated in the warehouse, supporting the management team with processing and managing the administration requirements for the warehouse team, enabling the warehouse to run efficiently by undertaking operational administrative tasks required on a daily/weekly basis.


Some of the key responsibilities are:

Processing supplier and customer returns, vehicle routing & maintenance, receipting goods on to the ERP system, pick list generation and more.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure that requests for inbound deliveries are processed on the internal booking system, creating visibility for the Goods-In team to allocate resource effectively, gathering driver and registration details to enable the onsite ANPR functionality
  • Pick lists printed in line with the daily print run schedule and handed over to the Despatch Warehouse Manager
  • Goods-In paperwork scanned and saved into the central folder daily and the physical paperwork filed in sequential order
  • Customer returns acknowledged through the system to enable a customer credit note to be raised and the goods restocked
  • Images printed and placed with products on the warehouse racking to enable a visual aid for putting away and picking
  • Arrange for specific freight quotes where required outside of our standard offering
  • Produce proof of deliveries for the sales team where they are requested
  • Produce Goods Receiving Notes as and when required
  • Enter route scheduling on to the internal software and hand over to the Warehouse Management team for sign off
  • Support the Warehouse Management team with their investigation where a discrepancy is reported (misspick/missship etc.), providing supporting information for the root cause analysis into each investigation.
  • Provide stock count information as and where required for specific items
  • Key system information housekeeping ensuring data is current and accurate
  • Manage despatch queries with the despatch team and appropriate salesperson, assisting with the coordinating of a resolution
  • Manage Goods-In queries with the Goods-In team and notifying the Purchasing department at the earliest possible point
  • Be the first point of contact in the warehouse for telephone calls, collating and forwarding information to the relevant team member

  • Be the point of contact between the Purchasing team and Despatch/Goods-In team for returning goods to suppliers where they are required
  • Capturing FLT daily machine checks and recording electronicall
  • Provide cover and support to the operational teams as and where required
  • Regular stock checks of warehouse consumables ensuring orders are placed with the Purchasing team so there are no outages
