Description
We're looking for a
P6 Planner** to join an established design, engineering and fabrication company on a permanent staff basis in the Greater Manchester area.
What does the job involve?
- Scheduling of defined scope over multiple projects to meet contract requirements using Primavera P
- Updating of Primavera P6 schedules in line with progress and contractual movement.
- Assist Senior Planner/Project Manager where required.
- Updating the schedule throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collating project data to show progress.
- Impacting programmes showing contractual movement.
- Update schedules at the contracted intervals throughout the project life cycle in accordance with contract changes.
- Materially contribute to the creation of effective WBS.
- Liaise with internal resources to ensure project schedule is realistic and achievable and identify important schedule related risks.
- Manage dependencies and maintain a critical path.
- Update schedule content with Early Warning Notices and Compensation Event Notices.
- Seek opportunities to avoid schedule prolongation in the event of change and delayed activity completions and reduce critical path duration.
- Maintain and process of information from different entities and coordinate in a controlled process.
- Work closely with the project team, subcontractors and financial team to maintain accurate and up to date data for multiple stages of multiple projects.
- Reporting and planning reviews with clients and others requiring information for ongoing planning reporting cycles.
- Work closely with the reporting function, inputting into their process and regular cycle.
- Identify issues and escalate to the project manager as appropriate.
- Manage production of appropriate project documentation.
- Transfer skills and knowledge to other staff members as appropriate.
What skills and experience do you need?
- Ability of managing multiple projects at differing stages.
- Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel to maintain schedules.
- Be a team player with management skills to facilitate the ability to receive and extract information.
- Demonstrate the process of the information coordination and presentation.
- Working autonomously and in a team environment.
- Proven project planning experience within an engineering environment.
- Understanding of business planning and pipeline analysis.
- Ability to work at pace and under pressure, with initiative and cando attitude.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
