This Operational tax administrator role will include the following:

  • This role is responsible for ensuring that RIM and RIMI meet their US Qualified Intermediary (QI) and AEOI (both FATCA and CRS) obligations and additionally for ensuring that RIM meets its obligations as an SEC registered Investment Advisor.
  • For our QI obligations, this involves ensuring that we hold correct documentation for any clients who wish to invest in US securities and for all clients who are US Persons (for example W8 or W9 forms).
  • The team produces 1099 reports relating to dividend, interest, and sales proceeds income for our US clients annually which are also submitted to the IRS and reports US income of nonUS clients to the IRS annually on a pooled basis.
  • Ensure that we hold validation information on the tax residencies of all clients and additionally for ensuring that all entity clients have provided valid AEOI selfcertification information.
  • Submit FATCA reporting (US clients) and CRS reporting (client's resident in neither the US nor the UK) annually to both HMRC and Revenue Jersey.
  • Meet RIM's SEC obligations, submit 13F reports quarterly and ADV reports both annually and after any material changes to the business.
  • Ensure that all relevant information is sent annually to all SEC clients.
  • Responsible for withholding tax (WHT) reclaim service which is aiming to offer RIM's largest charity clients a reduction in the WHT paid on foreign dividends in partnership with our global custodian.
  • Provide the charity clients with the relevant documentation and once completed, instructs BNY Mellon of the details of the reclaims to be made.
  • Assist in the production of appropriate management information, including information relating to key performance indicators, key risk indicators aligned to your responsibilities. Ensure these are produced on time and are appropriate for relevant committee audiences thereafter.
  • Ensure that you are actively participating in the 4+1 habits from Lean methodology.
  • Assist with the planning/ forecasting for the team and that this information is reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Monitor the team's effectiveness/ failure against the agreed SLA/ performance, whilst continuously looking to improve the service standard.
  • Act as an escalation point for your peers/ colleagues, highlighting any issues/ concerns you have to the management along with potential solutions.
  • Support the continuous improvement across the team leading to enhancements in efficiency and clients and customer experience (CX/UX).

The Successful Applicant:


  • Experience and knowledge with HMRC & Tax legislation
  • Experience within a financial services business
  • Strong administration skill set
  • Good organisation skills
  • Ability to analyse and improve operational processes
  • High level of accuracy and concentration with ability to grasp new tasks quickly
  • Effective problem solver, generating practical solutions to often complex issues
