Are you ready to take on an exciting new challenge? As a Cross-Site Maintenance Operative, you'll be an integral part of our dynamic maintenance team, reporting directly to the Facilities Manager to oversee the upkeep of our impressive property portfolio, which includes Edgeley Park, Carrington Training Ground, and our Academy in Woodley.


Your multifaceted role will involve executing a diverse range of maintenance duties, from pre-planned and reactive tasks to health and safety checks and compliance assessments.

You will even get to participate in preparing the stadium for match days, making every day a unique and thrilling experience.


As a key member of the team, you will actively engage in all maintenance-related tasks to ensure that everything is promptly and securely resolved.

This comprehensive and versatile position will keep you busy with a broad range of general maintenance works, including but not limited to:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform routine inspections of property lighting and emergency lighting; replace defective light bulbs.
  • Address basic plumbing tasks, including tap repair/replacement, toilet and sink blockages, leak inspections, and minor property repairs.
  • Conduct radiator repairs and maintain workstation equipment such as desks, chairs, and cupboards.
  • Manage the repair or installation of doors, door frames, locks, mag locks, and closers.
  • Install poster frames, notice boards, and whiteboards; replace ceiling tiles; and handle painting, decorating, and minor wall repairs.
  • Oversee the installation and repair of larger installations, including toilet areas, stand seating/concourse repairs, end of stadium deep clean and painting.
  • Address the repair and replacement of damaged carpet tiles, carpets, mats, trims, and associated materials.

Miscellaneous Tasks:


  • Conduct firstline investigations on Club requests, providing detailed reports for issue resolution.
  • Perform weekly fire alarm tests and implement pest control measures.
  • Handle manual tasks and assist Club staff in transporting heavy goods around the stadium.
  • Engage in minor gardening, weeding, and pruning activities around the premises.
  • Provide matchday support to the Facilities Manager at the Stadium.
  • Liaise with external contractors and Club staff across various sites.
  • Continuously identify areas for improvement and potential cost reductions.
  • Fulfil building compliance duties and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications & Skills:


  • Sound knowledge of basic building and maintenance skills.
  • Proficiency in using a range of manual and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team and alongside other trades/professionals.
  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2 qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
