The Faculty of Health, Science, Social Care and Education offers wide-ranging practice-based education and training programmes across nursing, midwifery, social care and teaching which are informed by high quality and impactful research and scholarship.

The Faculty has a successful track record in postgraduate research student education, public and service user engagement, research and enterprise activity, and has strong ambitions to grow and develop towards the next Research Excellence Framework (REF) in 2028.


This post will provide high level Faculty postgraduate research administration to students undertaking MPhil, PhD and EdD doctoral level qualifications including co-ordinating the recruitment and admission of new students, advertising scholarships, and provide ongoing support throughout the student's time with us.


The Person:

We are looking for an organised, experienced administrator with an eye for detail, and with excellent communication skills.

The role will provide maternity cover for a year, and involves being a first point of contact for research students, supervisors and examiners, and requires close liaison with other graduate school administrators and the Faculty and Graduate School leads, so you will need to be able to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.

The Faculty's professional administration and support teams work together to ensure business and support services are effective, efficient and sustainable in meeting the needs of our students, staff, stakeholders and areas of work.

This is a part-time (22.2 hours per week) role for 12 months, with a starting salary of £21,511.80 per annum (60% of the full-time equivalent - £35,853).
