This exciting and varied Assistant Accountant permanent position is based in Watford for this stable and family owned Manufacturing and production company who have had great long serving employees and are looking to add a loyal individual to the ranks.

Client Details

This Watford based Assistant Accountant role is being recruited to join an excellent family owned manufacturing and production bushiness, you will support the external Accountants to manage the finances of the company, responsible for the the general bookkeepingfor the business including accounts payable, and receivable, month end etc.

You will have the support of a small team around you, and an external accountancy practice for more technical issues.

Based in the Watford office they are looking for someone to jointheir friendly and supportive business

Description
Assistant Accountant job duties and responsibilities;

Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, supplier ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
Manage and ensure all control accounts reconciled as required in Sage accounting software
Update weekly cashflow
Create and post month end accruals and prepayment journals
Bring the books to the trial balance stage
Process accounts receivable/payable
Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software
Support preparation of monthly financial statements showing business income and expenditure
Paying vendor invoices
Manage business bank account

Profile

Have prior Accountancy or bookkeeping experience with a stable career track record
Professionalism and organisation skills
High attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Experience of purchase ledger processes and payments
Knowledge of Sage 200 is desirable, but not essential
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
