Type - 6 months, moving to perm at a later stage

Pay - £15.38ph (equivalent of £28k)

Hours - 35 per week - Hybrid working(1 day working from home)

Merrifield consultants is delighted to be working with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain to help them find an Individual Giving Coordinator.

This is an excellent role for a fundraiser in the early stages of their career to join an ambitious and growing Development Team.

With an eye for detail, a passion for fundraising, data and relationship management from supporters to peers, and an interest in donor experience, this individual will be a vital part of our team.


General duties:

  • Accurately and efficiently enter data onto our CRM database, from supporter information to donations, communication preferences and gift aid declarations. Working within the administrative structure and processes set up between Development and Finance teams.
  • Thank donors promptly and accurately, managing your time to make sure that all tasks are completed in line with SLAs. We pride ourselves on giving all supporters the very best experience of and you'll need to have a keen eye for detail and able to communicate effectively through written and verbal channels.
  • Process debit/credit card and direct debit donations.
  • Pull data from the CRM and provide reports on core KPIs for appeals, communications and fulfilment. You'll need to be able to take numbers and data and turn them into a narrative that tells us what is working and what needs to be improved.
  • Ensure data is processed in line with Data Protection policies. You'll need to know about GDPR and stringently protect our donors data by following processes to the highest standard.
  • Respond to all enquiries promptly, professionally, and positively. You'll need to know how to write a letter that really has the donor at its heart, how to handle a conversation on the phone with enthusiasm and care, and take pride in your level of donor care.
  • Support Head of Individual Giving in preparation of campaigns, inputting in the planning for appeals, scheduling and implementing plans and assessing success. You'll need to be highly organised and able to prioritise your work while working to deadlines for different projects.
  • Be part of the planning team to ensure that the campaign timetable is adhered to over the year liaising with and building excellent relationships with consultants, Marketing & Communications and Operations teams.
  • Help look after donors and supporters at concerts and events.
  • Travel is required 4 times per year with cenetral London and UK. This would normally take place over 2 days and within scholl holidays
