About us


Early Birds Nursery is one of three Local Authority settings for children aged 6 months - 4 years old based on Birdwell Primary School site in Long Ashton.

Early Birds has a Good Ofsted judgement and our dedicated team continually strive to seek innovative ways to further improve and develop practice.


We are unique and privileged to work in close partnership with the Early Years team under the Education branch of the council and a variety of other agencies.


You will be part of a supportive team who look out for each other and value staff wellbeing and diversity.

About you
You will need to be a strong team player who can also demonstrate initiative, nurture, and joy.

You will be friendly, passionate, reflective, and committed to delivering an outstanding child centred approach to Early Years in keeping with our Early Birds ethos.


You will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years and Care
  • English and Maths GSCE Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working in an Early Years environment and providing outstanding care and provision
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to build relationships and work in partnership with children and families
  • The practitioner will share the settings passion about children's learning and have a strong knowledge of the EYFS including the ability to plan to support individuals' progress.
  • Knowledge and understanding of both child protection/safeguarding and working
inclusively with vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.
