We are seeking an experienced Bank Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our clients.

Thurrock Teenage Parents Supported Housing has 9 bedrooms, 7 one-bedroom flats and 2 two-bedroom flats, spread across 4 shared houses.

We provide support for single young people aged 16 to 25, who are pregnant, or have a child or children.

We encourage young parents to develop their skills, increase their self-confidence and live as independently as possible.

The role of Bank Project Worker will include:

  • Regular key working and support planning to ensure that the relevant support is provided to encourage our clients to maximise their own potential and level of independence
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping clients to build their confidence, resilience and selfesteem
  • Drawing up and maintaining relevant written records
  • Assisting clients in resolving or preventing housing debts
  • Providing assistance to claim and manage housing benefits and offering advice in relation to fulfilling tenancy conditions
  • Maintaining close coordination with Basildon Council to ensure that any homelessness duties are met
  • Working with statutory and nonstatutory agencies on behalf of the clients, actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required

Skills and experiences:


  • A proven track record of working with vulnerable people or homelessness
  • Experience working with individuals to draw up personalised support plans
  • A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management, and an understanding of occupancy agreements
  • Knowledge of working with partner agencies and liaising with social care
  • The ability to work on your own initiative as you will be required to source innovative solutions to problems, allowing clients' independence to be enhanced
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
