Field ICT Support Engineer

The Company:
Focus Group Recruitment have the pleasure with working alongside this Industry leading IT Solutions provider. My client are market leaders within the education sector and are growing from strength to strength.

The Role


Due to planned growth and business requirements, we are now seeking a Field based ICT Technician to join their dynamic and forward-thinking team.

As a member of the Field Support Team, you will be required to provide onsite support to primary schools inWest London.

Hours of work will be 8am - 5.30pm and expected to be on your first site for 8.30am and second site for 1.30pm.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Providing 1st/2nd line technical support onsite.
  • Able to quickly identify and resolve common Windows desktop issues
  • Manage, monitor and ensure the successful deployment of Windows updates and AD policies
  • Administer and manage client requests for MSO 365 and Google Workspace
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Windows errors, network connectivity, printer and software issues
  • Setup and prepare equipment such as laptops, PC's, printers, and other peripheral devices, ensuring that system are ready for use and operating correctly daily
  • Perform hardware and software maintenance, when necessary
  • Investigate Windows and software issues through diagnostic tools, Windows event viewer and online resources.
  • Monitor, add and update IT helpdesk tickets
  • Document all ticket resolution and follow up with all parties involved to ensure the problem was corrected to their satisfaction
  • Create and maintains Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange accounts.
  • Perform as needed, hardware and software upgrades to existing desktop equipment
  • Perform routine server and internal network monitoring and performance benchmarking
  • Manage computer operation scheduling, backup, storage and retrieval functions
  • Monitor and remove virus, spyware and other nonauthorised software
  • Ability to solve hardware/software problems locally and remotely
  • Communicate thoroughly and timely all pertinent information to management.

Key Skills:


  • 24 years' experience in IT Support role
  • Highly motivated, positive, responsible, organised, quick learner and team player.
  • Strong experience in Windows desktop support
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP and DNS.
  • Experience of working with Microsoft O365 and Google Workspace
  • Knowledge of PC and Server performance and optimal configuration
Full Driving License is required.


Communication is essential part of this role and the ability to speak to various people with customer service skill sets is essential.

You will have your own vehicle and the client will pay 45p per mile to cover travel costs. As you are working within Primary Schools, a CRB check will be required.


The Location:


The role is Field based and twice a week 2 afternoons can be spent from home to catch up on paperwork.

The location of the role is west London.


Salary:
£30,000 - £38, p per mile travel + great benefits,
