The opportunity


We are growing our global Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIB) team and looking for an experienced, passionate and committed person to join the team.

Reporting into the Global Head of DIB, this new strategic role will help with the delivery of an executive-sponsored strategy and help make a sustainable difference to organisational inclusion and to the experiences of employees across ING globally.

The team


The global DIB team is positioned within, and works in close partnership across, the broader Talent & Learning team to ensure all our approaches to hiring, development, advancement and employee experience are designed with equity in mind.


The mandate of the global Talent & Learning team is to ensure we can attract, develop, engage and retain the most talented individuals and help them grow and develop with us.

Diversity, inclusion and belonging play a critical role in creating access to opportunities and shaping an open, collaborative workplace.


In this role, you will report to our global Head of Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging and work closely with two global DIB experts, as well as a broader team of DIB leads across our 44 countries.

Roles and responsibilities


This role will lead the design, development, implementation and reporting on new, robust regulatory-standard policies and practices, driven by new Corporate Sustainability and Reporting Directive (CSRD), GRI Sustainability reporting and EU regulatory requirements and in line with ING's new Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging and Sustainability strategies.


  • Develop and deliver approaches to DIB that align with the strategic goals and objectives of ING and include global benchmarking, trend analysis and design metrics to ensure a datadriven approach.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on DIB strategies and practices to achieve DIB targets and objectives and consult/guide delivery across the organization. Facilitate senior leadership discussions.
  • Shape DIB initiatives in close collaboration with senior stakeholders to ensure close alignment and support in delivery across the organization.
  • Serve as a key advisor and coach on DIBrelated issues, working particularly closely with global HR Business Partners.
  • Develop global standards for DIB policies and practices by conducting asis assessments, external benchmarking, internal consultation and cocreation, implementation and measurements.
  • Define clear outcomes that will both serve as guideposts for evaluation of impact, and will inform program design and prioritization with stakeholders.
  • Use highly developed data analysis skills to inform strategy, drive design, and track and measure impact on employee experience and identify opportunities to improve our diversity and inclusion.
  • Represent ING in industry and professional forums. Cultivate relationships in the external market and manage key strategic partnerships on behalf of ING.

  • 7+ years' experience in developing and executing a broad range of DIB initiatives in global organisations. Depth of expertise in multiple dimensions of diversity, with proactive orientation to consistently learn more.
  • Strong DIB policy development experience, including interpretation of complex regulatory requirements, development of approaches to meet these requirements and keep ING (at minimum) compliant, and development and implementation of reporting.
  • Proven track record in using data to generate insights and identify root causes, building short and longterm plans and drive meaningful action and impact.
  • Strong project management skills; proven experience creating impact via companywide projects across global locations.
  • Demonstrated experience as a trusted coach and partner to business leaders.
  • Ability to build a broad network of productive and strong working relationships at all levels of the organization, including the most senior levels, and to balance multiple stakeholders.
  • Creative and resourceful problem solver who can drive change in a large, global matrixed organization; ability to generate ideas and take organized action to see them through.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, facilitation, written and presentation), with the ability to balance diplomacy and challenge.
