Our Charity works with many universities, colleges and public/third sector organisations across the UK, delivering sustainabilityand skills workshops and learning opportunities to young people, students and staff.
Our successful employment business subsidiary provides recruitment and employment services focused on green careers and entry-level and mid-level roles in sustainability acrossall sectors.
We are Corporate Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) members and all trading profits are gift-aided to support our Charity's work in education.
We are innovating and growing at pace, both in our Charity's education work and our non-profit sustainability recruitment business. This new role will focus on our digital presence, social media and marketing and communications strategy.If you're a diligent, well-organised, enthusiastic marketing or communications professional with excellent people skills and a passion for sustainability, we want to hear from you
We need:
We need a new team member to join us as a Marketing & Communications Officer to support our exciting and much-needed work in sustainability education and Green Careers.
We are looking for someone who brings professional experience in communications and marketingand shares our values and commitment to sustainability.
The person specification is outlined below:
Essential
- Passionate about sustainability and combatting climate change
- Educated to degree level or with equivalent professional experience
- Significantly experienced in marketing, digital media or communications and PR
- A skilful relationship manager, able to build and sustain positive and successful relationships with partners and clients
- A capable content creator, copywriter and social media manager
- Strong skills in organisation, using time effectively and meeting deadlines
- A confident communicator with strong presentation skills
- Strong eye for detail, a "doublechecker"
- A team player and with excellent people skills
- Selfmotivated and capable of showing initiative
- Strongly committed to equality, diversity & inclusion
Desirable
- Professional qualification in marketing or related field
- Qualified or experienced in sustainability eg. degree, professional qualification or work experience
- An understanding of or experience working within the Charity sector
- Experienced in website design

Communications
- Create impactful content for website, social media, and other marketing materials
- Review website user experience and manage ongoing improvement plan
- Deepen links with our alumni network and manage forums for alumni relations
- Manage press releases and media relations
Marketing
- Work with CEO on marketing strategy, comms plan and 3year development plan
- Support the definition of our brand values and alignment across our communications
- Manage the CRM system
Relationship Management
- Explore suitable corporate partnerships
- Support or lead on fundraising activities/funding bids
- Contribute to lead generation for the Charity's trading subsidiary and paidfor Charity services
- Build and nurture relationships with our partners
Events
- Support the team with the regular programme of events where we exhibit, speak or attend, and consider new opportunities to optimise our presence at events
- Attend sector events, exhibitions and conferences as a representative of Change Agents UK
