We have a fantastic opportunity for a Computer Lecturer to join our dedicated and friendly Computing team on a part time basis.

Working in state-of-the-art IT classrooms, the successful Computer Lecturer will deliver outstanding teaching and learning to inspire, motivate and develop our student's knowledge and skills.

Through exceptional classroom, employer linked and enrichment delivery, the successful Computing Lecturer will raise aspirations, ensuring students have the opportunity to either progress to Higher Education or enter employment.


Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, teach and assist in the development of courses which fall within the programme area
  • Demonstrate an uptodate working knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching, learning and assessment strategies
  • Motivate and build selfesteem and selfworth/selfbelief, developing a 'can do 'attitude with students.
  • Participate in open events and parents/student consultation evenings as appropriate.
  • Devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.
  • To participate actively in the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students or trainees.

Education & Training

  • Educated to Degree (or equivalent) standard.
  • A recognised teaching qualification or working towards one.
  • GCSE 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
  • GCSE 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
  • Level 2 IT would be desirable but is not essential
Experience

  • Proven experience and evidence of successful teaching
  • Experience of being a pastoral/form tutor
  • Knowledge of assessment and data support learning
  • Understanding of Post 16 curriculum
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people with a range of abilities and motivation.
