We are looking to recruit an additional Buyer to join our Supply Chain Management team.

Reporting to the Head of Direct Procurement the successful applicant will develop and maintain purchasing strategies for purchased materials to support our Steam Turbine and Marine business.

This will include ownership of designated commodities, supplier sourcing, supplier selection, evaluation and development, contract negotiations and execution, monitor and maintain supplier performance in line with the business strategy.

Your profile

  • Experience and understanding of core procurement activities and commodity management, ideally in a technical or projectbased environment
  • A strong blend of commercial and technical acumen
  • Knowledge and experience of working to stringent technical quality standards
  • A strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and accountability
  • Ability to manage internal & external stakeholders working to challenging deadlines
  • Able to communicate clearly with people at all levels, both internal and external to Siemens Energy.
  • Selfmotivated, flexible and can work under pressure on their own initiative
  • SAP experience would be preferred

Your responsibilities

  • Supplier sourcing, qualification and performance management
  • Negotiating supply contracts for designated suppliers
  • Procurement of mechanical and electrical hardware
  • Day to day management and execution of purchase orders including expediting hardware & software deliverables with a particular focus on quality documentation
  • Work closely with SQE partners to qualify suppliers from a hardware and software deliverables perspective.
  • To act as Commodity lead for designated commodities, with the objective of securing best value solutions.
  • Comply with Procurement policies and Strategic Procurement initiatives, inline with business requirements and strategies.
