We are working with a key client of ours who are looking to expand their projects team and are looking for someone to join them as an Assistant Project Manager.

This position is a full-time, permanent role based in Gloucester.

Within this role you will ensure efficient running of projects, both in-house and off-site, through supporting the Project Manager to achieve success from the initial sales, handover, throughout the project lifecycle and to final delivery.


Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing all project scope and technical documentation
  • Checking drawings and technical specifications from clients and suppliers
  • Obtaining quotations for products and services
  • Running and overseeing lower value projects
  • Planning scheduling and reporting of projects
  • Raising manufacturing requests for materials / tools / equipment that are supplied inhouse
  • Placing orders for products and services using Company financial systems
  • Overseeing inhouse engineering design of mould tooling and providing project approval
  • Monitoring and expediting delivery of inhouse and supplier provided items
  • Commercial management and oversight of smaller jobs
  • Helping the Project Manager oversee and manage longterm value projects
  • Covering Project Manager responsibilities in their absence and when required
  • Arranging and coordinating logistics, utilising Company transportation subcontractors
  • Ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with Company and legislative procedures
  • Working in line with requirements of quality, health and safety, and environmental management systems
  • Comfortable and proficient in chairing internal and external meetings with suppliers, customers and shareholders
  • Comfortable making hard decisions

An integral part of this role will also include site visits so you will be responsible for a range of things such as coordinating field personnel, producing site handover packs, supporting the Project Manager in site scheduling planning as well as liaisingwith Site Managers and producing necessary site paperwork.


  • Proficient in coordinating project work, both inhouse and offsite
  • Experienced in purchasing, expediting and logistics
  • Clear and effective with their communication skills
  • Confident in presenting data /information in a clear, concise manner for approval
  • Highly organised and reliable in seeing tasks through to completion
  • Able to manage their workload in accordance with project requirements and strict deadlines
  • Unfazed when working under pressure
  • Comfortable working with various IT systems
  • Comfortable and proficient in chairing internal and external meetings with suppliers, customers and shareholders
  • Comfortable making hard decisions
The position is contracted to 37.5 hours per week, 8:00am - 4:45pm (Mon-Thurs) and 8:00am-12:30pm on Fridays. Flexibility around working hours will be required in line with the needs of the business.
