Our Elderly Care Medicine service has an exciting opportunity for a Consultant to join our dedicated, experienced and patient focused team caring for our older patients across our Acute wards for a role offering liaison opportunities for Ortho-Geriatric Cross Cover.


This role involves working within our frailty unit and being part of a multidisciplinary team providing high quality care to patients within our community and can be offered as a Substantive post or as a Locum Post with a view to becoming permanent depending on your circumstances.


As our Consultant you will be responsible for the delivery of a dedicated programme of geriatric care, assume responsibility for patients on Elderly Medicine wards with daily review and full consultant ward rounds, regularly pro-actively review of our patients and coordination of care with allied specialties and engage in multi-disciplinary meetings to direct the care of patients.


You will also provide specialist opinions to other hospital specialties as part of frailty liaison service, participate in outpatient clinics supporting the delivery of patient care within Geriatric Medicine in line with national standards and Care Quality Commission requirements, actively participate in developing innovative approach to acute elderly care, develop older peoples acute service pathways, services and Outpatient clinic to facilitate the further development of our Frailty Assessment Unit and actively participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
