18 hours per week, 52 weeks per year


As our
Science,
you
will be passionate about teaching and shaping the future of students aspiring to enter Higher Education or employment in the Science industry.


The post holder will be creative and innovative in their planning, preparation and delivery of a variety of sessions, including a high proportion of practical experiments.

Responsibilities of our
Science Tutor:


  • Deliver highquality teaching and learning sessions to students enrolled on Applied Science courses at Level 2 and Level 3 and GCSE Biology. There will also be an element of delivery of the Anatomy and Physiology Unit in the Sports Curriculum.
  • Plan and develop engaging an exciting curriculum offer with high standard lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment briefs.
  • Provide academic guidance and support to students to enhance their learning experience and progress.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing and recording strategies for improvement and intervention when necessary
  • Integrate industry knowledge and practical experience into the curriculum to ensure students are prepared for realworld challenges.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and local stakeholder to contribute to the development and improvement of the Applied Science curriculum
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the delivery of relevant and uptodate content. This will include 3 days "Back to the Floor" industrial annual updating.
  • Participate in staff development sessions and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practices.
  • Enhance the student journey by identifying opportunities for enrichment, industry visits, guest speakers and progression to HE activities.
  • Monitor and support students undertaking work experience
  • Contribute to the college's vision to become outstanding.
