BCUHB are looking for an experienced Welsh speaking professional, to undertake a key role in supporting the Welsh Language Standards Compliance Officer to ensure that the Health Board is compliant with the Welsh Language Standards under the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011.


An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Welsh Language Team, alongside the Welsh Language Standards Compliance Officer in the transformational change of working practices that will deliver compliance and service improvements across the Health Board.

Excellent communication skills are essential to this role in order to influence changes in working practices.

The post holder will work with a large degree of autonomy, ensuring delivery of service improvements or initiatives to ensure compliance with the Welsh Language Standards.

The post holder will assist in establishing operational systems to ensure a seamless approach across the Health Board.

The post holder will also be responsible for establishing monitoring controls to identify areas of non-compliance and areas of good practice.


The post holder will have extensive experience of working in a multidisciplinary organisation as well as extensive knowledge, and robust understanding of matters relating to the Welsh language.

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this role.

Working as part of the Welsh Language team, the post holder will provide assistance to the Welsh Language Standards Compliance Officer in the transformational change across the Health Board post implementation of the Welsh Language Standards (Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011).


The post holder will support the Divisions within the Project scope by identifying opportunities where the Welsh Language Standards can be applied and to support changes in working practices that will deliver compliance and service improvement.

Excellent communication skills are essential to this role as there may be hostility towards changes of working practice.

The post holder will work with a large degree of autonomy, ensuring delivery of service improvements or change management initiatives.


The Welsh Language Standards Support Officer will work within the Welsh Language Team and will be an ambassador within the organisation for the Welsh Language Standards.
