An exciting opportunity have arisen within Estée Lauder Travel Retail Europe, Middle East & Africa to appoint a Visual Merchandising Executive for our MAC brand.

The role will be based in our London Head Office and will report to Visual Merchandising Manager.


Travel Retail, one of The Estée Lauder Companies' highest growth channels, covers the world of duty-free environments including airports, airlines, cruises, downtown locations and border shops.

According to industry projections, more than 3 billion international travellers pass through airports each year, and that number is expected to grow 5% annually.


Key responsibilities include:

Promotions and Special Events:
Provide 2D and 3D designs and manage the installation of promotional sites in selected doors across the region.

Ensure excellence in execution and innovation from concept to implementation within budget and tight timelines following the brand's guidelines and quality standards.


Merchandising guidelines:

Produce accurate planograms for new store installations and new campaigns, in partnership with Global brand, Marketing and Store Design.

Ensure that the guidelines are distributed to the field VM team within the required time frame.


VM hardware and collateral:
Order all VM hardware and collateral for new store openings and launch campaigns and manage allocations and inventory. Develop and source launch collateral locally as needed.

Raise purchase orders and follow-up with suppliers and Field VM team to ensure the timely and pro-active implementation of VM hardware.


Communication bands:
Ensure the pro-active, timely and efficient production, language translation and distribution of communication bands.


Transparencies / prints:

Ensure the timely and efficient ordering of visuals, artwork approvals and distribution as part of rollouts or 'one off' visual orders within budget and given deadlines following the exact brand's guidelines.

Maintain the lightbox database always updated with the correct visual information, dimensions, formats and photos. Upload artwork received from NY onto shared online platforms for supplier downloads. Source new print suppliers and sustainable materials locally within the region.


Communication:

Communicate efficiently and coordinate with all relevant internal and external stake holders: Store Design, Marketing, Finance and Field VM teams and Commercial teams, retailers ensuring the timely visibility of project information.

Present the latest guidelines to workshops and conferences. Cascade updated VM guidelines to the Field Teams and provide guidance and coaching for the correct implementation. Share 'best practice' with other regions.


In-store merchandising:Support the Field Teams with in-store merchandising in flagship stores and preparations for VIP store visits. Maintain consistently high visual standards throughout all TR environments.


Suppliers liaison:
Manage budgets, quotes, track invoices and approvals. Provide shopfitters with clear briefs and all relevant project information, technical details, materials and brand guidelines. Ensure excellent follow-up on projects before and after installation is complete.


Monitoring of budget:

Monitoring of project-specific purchase orders and invoices to ensure budgets are met and projects can be closed by the Finance Department.


The Visual Merchandising Executive will work closely with the Store design and VM team, Marketing, Finance, Field VM and the brands in NY.

They will understand the technicalities of Visual Merchandising, be creative with excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.


Qualifications

The following skills are also required:

  • They will be a dynamic and confident VM Designer with positive attitude, strong organisation skills and experience of managing multiple projects and budgets within tight timelines
  • Attention to detail and good followup are essential
  • They should have excellent interpersonal and organisation skills, they should enjoy a flexible and fast pace corporate environment
  • They will also have the ability to use initiative, be flexible working across multiple brands, be proactive and willing to adapt and take on new challenges.
