Primary Inclusion Lead


The children that attend The Aspire Hub(s) have a range of complex, social, emotional and developmental needs and will be at risk of exclusion or have been excluded from their mainstream setting.

In the context of this Job Description, pupils with special educational needs are deemed to include:

  • Pupils on the School's Special Educational Needs Register;
  • Pupils identified as being Gifted and Talented;
  • Pupils with identified specific learning difficulties;
  • Pupils with identified behavioural challenges;
  • Pupils eligible for free school meals;
  • Pupils belonging to ethnic minorities;
  • Pupils of Romany, Gypsy or Traveller families;
  • Pupils who the Principal considers have previously received, for any reason, an inadequate or compromised education.
As the Primary Inclusion Lead, you will also be a member of SLT.

You will assist with Principal in the Leadership and management of the curriculum and teaching aspects across our Independent Schools (The Aspire Hubs).

Provide leadership, support and direction for Inclusion, ensuring pupil achievement and progression through effective inclusion for all pupils. Every child matters.


Role Details

  • Title: Primary Inclusion Lead (start date to be discussed)
  • Location: The Aspire Hub, Burnley + Bolton
  • Responsible to: Principal
  • Role type: Full time + 35 days annual leave to be taken outside of term time
  • Rate of pay: £33, £42,059.85 dependent on experience

Responsibilities include

  • Ensure all SEN and disadvantaged underachievers achieve their best
  • Raise attainment for all pupils
  • Develop and maintain an up to date provision map of support for relevant groups
  • Manage daytoday provision for the above groups and deploy relevant staff
  • To lead and model the teaching and learning across both sites, 4 days per week
  • Supporting the Room Leaders with the delivery through leading and modelling in the classroom
  • Work closely with the SLT on Assessments
  • Contribute to the discussion, creation and implementation of targets for individual pupils on their IIP's, ensuring that pupils achieve and make good progress.
  • Supporting with the SIP
  • As a member of our SLT, effectively contribute to the management and development of the setting(s)
  • Lead by example and assist us in creating a positive, productive environment in which effective learning and progress can take place
  • Promote positive relationships with colleagues, parents, carers, families and outside agencies.

Teaching and Learning in relation to SEN -

  • Developing and plan the primary school curriculum across the school year; ensuring the curriculum is broad, balanced and creative. Ensuring highquality and that it compliments the schools objectives
  • To lead and model the teaching and learning across both sites, 4 days per week
  • Modelling and supporting Room Leaders in the delivery of the curriculum planning
  • Monitoring the quality of teaching and learning, feeding back and supporting staff in development in the area
  • Develop the quality of teaching, assess the standards of childrens achievements and set targets for improvement
  • To promote the importance of and continue to develop the reading schemes and childrens access to reading
  • To liaise with the Principal and share developments of all aspects of SEN and to lead development in those areas
  • To keep up to date with any changes in regulations within the Educational sector
  • Disseminate this information and initiatives to all staff
  • To be proactive and implement any necessary changes

SENCO Responsibilities -

  • Ensure a baseline for all children is established and targets are identified.
  • Creating, reviewing and updating IIP's for each individual pupil
  • Attending meetings to review and update school and professions each individuals progress whilst at The Hubs (Review meetings)
  • Attending CAF/TAF
  • Being the Designated Teacher for LAC, reviewing and supporting the PEP's

Leading and Managing Staff -

  • To lead, manage and work collaboratively with colleagues and other adults in the settings.
  • Motivate and help to enable all staff to carry out their respective roles to the highest standards.
  • Contribute to the professional development of staff through example, supporting and contributing to staff meetings.
  • Provide feedback to other members of SLT when it comes to performance and conduct of staff
  • Lead staff meetings where identified
  • Support staff induction

Efficient Deployment of Staff and Resources

  • To develop and monitor teaching resources within the The Hub(s)
  • To ensure that resources are organised and readily available to promote the environment for effective teaching and learning to take place.

DSL

  • Designated Safeguarding Lead being the point of contact for staff to share and raise concerns, ensuring policy and procedure is followed in all circumstances.
  • Following up with necessary referrals, when it comes to Safeguarding
