SUMMARY
The Production Planner is responsible for the maintenance of the production plans within the ODC production facility.
Using an ERP system in conjunction with other planning tools, the planner shall ensure adherence to the plan and that parts and assemblies are manufactured in a timely manner, whilst considering aspects of material and resource availability and equipment capacity.
To ensure that customer demand is recognised and met, you will work with other members of the Components team, Purchasing, internal suppliers, Design and Development, QC and Sales to ensure adherence to the plan.
Exceptions to the plan shall be reported, and working with the team, this should constitute part of a recovery plan.
Any delays and potential non-adherence to the plan shall be reported back to the relevant areas to expedite.Should the plan be compromised and lead to the potential for late delivery of customer orders, then this should be reported to Sales.
The applicant shall have a good understanding of ERP systems and inventory control, be able to provide solutions, work with people both inside and outside the organisation to expedite products against the customer demand.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyse, plan and manage production plans.
- Support the Operations management team in achieving stated aims and targets.
- Raise Shop orders (Assembly Route and Bill of Materials).
- Identify plan deviation and implement appropriate corrective actions, to meet targets and satisfy customer demand.
- Indicate to Sales, planned order release delivery dates. This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee. - Raise DCR's, NCR's as appropriate.
- Compare costs with the purchasing team and benefits of manufacturing internally or buying externally in order to make strategic make/buy decisions.
- Plan and manage appropriate projects using Microsoft Project, or other such tools
- Compilation of KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) as appropriate
- Explicitly follow all guidance as it relates to safe systems of work and the use of highly flammable solvents in this role
- Develop and improve planning processes to comply with current quality standards, securing compliance and embedding the standards into everyday practice.
- Establish productive, dynamic, working relationships with the Engineering, Design and Manufacturing departments, maintaining regular associations through meetings and communications to discuss any issues.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS Competent in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Standards & AS9100 Effective oral and written communication skills
EXPERIENCE A strong background & wide-ranging experience in a production planning environment utilising an ERPtoolset

WORK ENVIRONMENT The role is fully based in the Operations environment
