About the role


Roundabout are looking for an enthusiastic person who has a passion for learning and developing their skills working with homeless young people, with a view to gaining future employment as a keyworker within Roundabout.

We aim to support the trainee to develop strong communication skills, resilience, excellent data recording skills and become an integral part of the team at the Hostel.


As the trainee you will initially be working as part of a larger team, and will be offered training and development through regular supervisions.

You will attend team meetings, both online and face-to-face training session (where available) and receive daily coaching by experienced members of the team and management.


You will develop skills around understanding relationships with young people, help guide the young people through their support plan process and complete assessments to identify goals through working in a strength-based approach.

You will help deliver life-skills sessions around how to manage a tenancy, self-care, budgeting and money management, managing health issues, claiming benefits, accessing external services, look at training, education and employment opportunities and successful living within communities.

The Hostel team also hold activity sessions at the service and out in the wider community.

These could be working with another organisation to go caving, abseiling, canoeing or walking in the countryside or cooking sessions, baking and gardening.
